Yakima City Councilmen Micah Cawley shared his experiences in elected city offices with students at the 2011 Evergreen Boys State program. He talked about the challenges he faces as mayor and balancing the various needs of the people in his city.
Students also question Cawley about issues ranging from how they balance demands of people who donate money to their campaigns, to how students can get action from their own cities on pot hole repair and weed clean up, to how elected politicians attract support from voters of different ethnicities and age brackets.
